They may be unable to decode or recognize sounds in letters or words, understand the meaning of what they have read or keep their place in a passage. Their weakness may be in the areas of visual/auditory perception, visual/auditory processing and memory. This section offers solutions to help in the area of reading.
Tools to Help Struggling Readers
Polk and Hardee county teachers remember, in order to receive credit you must complete the skills check in all four sections (Home, AT for Reading, AT for Writing, AT for Math):
1. Download the PowerPoints for each section
2. Download and complete the skills check in each section. (you currently are in the Reading section)
*It may be helpful to print the skills check questions as a reference before going through the PowerPoint.
3. Send ALL four completed skills check documents as attachments in one email to: lourdes.day@polk-fl.net
